Message From The President

Welcome to the ASCM Atlanta Chapter!

I'm Dale Doss, your new President. Our chapter goes back to 1964 and now counts more than 400 members across the Southeast, which makes it one of the largest in the country.  I've spent 35 years building and leading supply chain operations, and one thing has held true the whole way: the size of a room tells you very little.  What matters is who's in it and whether they show up for one another.

Here, they do. Seasoned members mentor the students coming up behind them.  Executives give an evening to pass along what they had to learn the hard way.  Someone new to the profession finds a person willing to answer the question they were afraid to ask.  That last part is what I care about most.  The real measure of this chapter is simple: people should leave it further along than they arrived.

Most of that happens at our Professional Development Meetings (PDMs) — the training classes, executive speaker sessions, and plant tours we run through the year.  PDMs are where you hear straight from leaders across industries and build the relationships that actually move a career.

If you're new, my advice is short: come to a PDM, introduce yourself, and ask your questions.  We earn our place by what we give the people around us, and this chapter gives back to the people who show up. We are eager to see you in person.
