Third Annual Student Scholarship Awards Competition


Do you have an interest in pursuing a career in supply chain management? 

To be eligible for the scholarship, you should be an undergraduate or graduate student at one of the following Georgia-based institutions:

  • Clark Atlanta University
  • Clayton State University 
  • Georgia College and State University
  • Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Georgia Southern University
  • Georgia State University
  • Georgia Tech
  • Kennesaw State University
  • University of Georgia
  • University of North Georgia

Note: students attending other universities or colleges in the Southeastern United States are also welcome to submit papers. 

Six Academic Scholarship Awards Available!

If you are eligible, we invite you to submit a paper for the Third Annual Student Paper Competition hosted by the ASCM Atlanta Chapter. This competition aims to encourage students from diverse academic backgrounds to engage in the ever-evolving and technologically advanced field of supply chain management.

To support this mission, the ASCM Atlanta Chapter is offering six scholarship awards—separate awards for undergraduate and graduate students—totaling $3,500.

2 x 1st Place: $1,000 

2 x 2nd Place: $500 

2 x 3rd Place: $250 

In addition to the financial awards, winning papers will be published on the ASCM Atlanta Chapter’s website and publicly recognized on LinkedIn and in the ASCM Atlanta Chapter’s newsletter.

The student paper competition allows students to demonstrate their research skills and knowledge in topics critical to the supply chain industry and the ASCM community. The approved topics for the competition are as follows:

  • Production Planning

  • Inventory Management

  • Sales and Operations Planning

  • Demand Planning

  • Sourcing and Procurement

  • Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution Management

  • Warehousing

  • Resilience

  • Sustainability

  • Supply Chain Leadership and Transformation

  • Technology Innovations (AI, etc.)

Evaluation Criteria

The following four criteria will be included in the paper evaluation:

  • Relevance/Importance of the subject

  • Methodology and Analysis 

  • Conclusions/recommendations and future research needed 

  • Composition (length, grammar, and sources/references)

Submission Guidelines

Submit papers in Microsoft Word format as an email attachment.

Papers must:

  • Be no longer than 2,500 words

  • Be double-spaced, in 12-point font

  • Include a bibliography and citations

  • Charts and graphs are highly encouraged

The email subject line should be: “ASCM Atlanta Chapter Student Paper Competition.”

The cover page must include:

  • Paper Title

  • Student's Full Name, Mailing Address, and Phone Number

  • Academic Affiliation

  • Undergraduate/Graduate Status

  • Major

  • Topic

Note: This information should appear only on the cover page. Submissions that are incomplete or improperly formatted will not be considered.

Submit papers to [email protected] by Friday, March 28, 2025.  The ASCM Atlanta Chapter’s Student Paper Committee, composed of leading academics and industry professionals, will independently judge all submissions. Winners will be notified by the end of March 2025. All winners should attend the awards event to be officially recognized at the Annual Award Ceremony/Professional Development Meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Membership Information

Students submitting papers do not need to be ASCM members. However, the ASCM Atlanta Chapter encourages all students to join (membership is free for college students). For more information, visit ASCM Membership.
